Scout Experiences and Badges
Are you a leader for either Boy or Girl Scouts and would like to schedule a hands-on experience with clay? Your troop can experience the basic fundamentals of pottery, or have a session that will allow them to work toward their pottery badge.
Our studio has worked with multiple troops and will tailor a workshop to meet your needs. Accommodation can be made for special needs students.
Some activities that may be covered during the workshop include:

Vocabulary associated with pottery

Basic structures such as coil and pinch pots

Demonstration of pottery equipment including electric pottery wheels.

Surface decoration using stamps, mats, natural objects.

Information regarding glazes and finishes.
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded at the end of the session.

Do you have a group of friends, special social group, or club who would like a unique experience for an evening or weekend day? The Clay Yard can accommodate your requests. Instructors will be on hand to help guide you and your group through a number of experiences with clay; no experience needed! Whether you might want to do hand building, wheel throwing, or special raku firing, let us help make this an event to remember!
